The launch of ChatGPT in November 2022 shook Google and was behind both Google's launches of Bard and now the latest successor Google Gemini (December 2023). Basically, no one has been able to avoid the discussions about the use of these tools, e.g. plagiarized texts created in the tool. But I think many of us, including myself, are wondering how we can use these new tools to work smarter. So I decided to test Google Gemini in Swedish and see if this is my new favorite work tool.

Google Gemini, the Swedish version of Bard, is a powerful language model that can be used for a variety of tasks. It is still under development, but it has already learned to perform many types of things, including:

• Answering questions in Swedish: Gemini can answer your questions in an informative and detailed way, even if they are open-ended, challenging, or strange. For example, it can provide you with summaries of facts on topics, answer questions about current events, or even give you advice on personal matters.
• Writing different types of text: Gemini can create texts in different formats, such as poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, emails, letters, etc. It can adapt to your style and tone and meet your specific requirements. For example, you can use it to write a poem for a friend, create code for a new website, or even write a script for a movie.
• Translating languages: Gemini can translate between Swedish and other languages, making it a practical tool for communication and research. You can use it to translate a web page, communicate with someone who speaks another language, or even translate a book.

Blog articles are of course an excellent use case for generating text, especially factual texts. In addition to creating text, Gemini can easily rewrite it, e.g. change the tone, shorten it, or add details. Simple and smooth. If you want to use Swedish and create Swedish text, you need to use gemini.google.com, at least for now. If you work in English, Gemini works in Google Mail and Google Docs, for example, which I look forward to welcoming for Swedish as well.

Gemini may be even better at searching and summarizing information for you. TeQflo's description was spot on below, although I would have hoped that CRM would have been more prominent.

If we want to simplify the description, it is perfectly possible.

Or why not go for a shorter and more relaxed description of TeQflo? This is probably my favorite!

Google Gemini also works for interpreting images, which can be useful. Say you see a diagram with too much data for you to see the pattern or draw important conclusions. Paste the diagram and Gemini will help you on your way.

Or again, the more relaxed description that reveals a certain sense of humor.

So Google Gemini can do much more than just create text. If you work a lot with presentations, Google Gemini can create visualizations in image format directly in the tool. You just describe what you want and Google Gemini will do the rest.

Even though Microsoft Excel dominates the world of spreadsheets, more and more of us are discovering the merits of Google Sheets. Even with Gemini, you can create tables, formulas, smart fill, and much more fun. With "Help me organize" you can, for example, plan your wedding or why not the honeymoon afterwards on the Amalfi Coast.

There are many exciting uses for Google Sheets and it will be easier to discover the benefits when I use it in English. It will be exciting to explore the more advanced features in the future.

Google Meet is a daily tool for many civil servants. Currently, you can get help creating new virtual backgrounds, optimized video settings, and transcribed text (if you speak English). Even though this is not very useful right now, it will be interesting to follow in the future.

I am even more curious about Google Gemini in Google Drive, whose functionality is gradually being rolled out. For example, you should be able to find documents or text in documents more easily and summarize long texts. It will be exciting to test.

Google Gemini already offers exciting features in the workplace and it will be exciting to start using them and follow how Gemini develops. To be continued!
